Phil Pasfield of The Brixton in Babylon died unexpectedly on Friday, April 26.

His friends, who have started a GoFundMe page, describe him as "an amazing husband, friend, brother, son, chef and so much more to each and every one of us," they wrote.

Pasfield, who attended Sayville High School, the State University of New York at Cobleskill, and studied at the Institute of Culinary Education in Manhattan, opened the go-to restaurant in 2017 with partners Frank Bragaglia and Brad Wilson.

He left behind his wife Katie Kauffman, along with his parents, Robert and Janet Pasfield, sisters Lori Ann Beckmann, Sandra Scott and Deborah Haase, and brother Joshua Pasfield.

But his friends who started the GoFundMe page, including Kim Parmenter, Devin Delgado, Steven Scalesse and Alanna Johnson, say he also left behind many loving friends and families that are "heartbroken and devastated."

They said that there are no words to describe the loss of Phil, and so they let his wife Katie's describe the heartbreak they are all feeling: "I lost my best friend yesterday," she wrote. 'Phil was truly the best person on this earth. He took care of me better than anyone else and was truly the greatest husband someone could ever have. I don’t physically understand anything or how this could have happened or why it was supposed to.

"There isn’t any way that this is fair for the hardest working, most humble, selfless and loving person on this earth. I don’t have any words. I’ll love you more than myself forever. "

The friends, who are attempting to raise $15,000, say any small amount is appreciated and asks friends to share this with their network of friends in order to help the family.
